This Privacy Policy explains how Seedance ("we", "us", or "the App") collects, uses, stores, and shares your information when you use our AI video generation services on iOS and related websites. By using Seedance, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

Seedance does not use passwords. When you sign in with a third-party provider (Google, TikTok, or Apple), we receive and store:

Your name / nickname and avatar as provided by the sign-in provider
Your email address (when the provider shares it and it is verified)
An anonymized provider account identifier used to link your account

We never receive or store your password for these third-party services.

1.2 Content You Provide

Reference materials — images, video clips, and audio files you upload as inputs for video generation
Prompts — the text descriptions you write, including references to your uploaded materials
Generation settings — aspect ratio, duration, and similar parameters

1.3 Generated Content

Videos generated from your prompts and materials are stored in our cloud storage so you can replay and download them.

1.4 Usage and Device Data

Request logs: IP address, device/browser identifiers (User-Agent), request time, and API endpoint accessed — collected for security auditing and troubleshooting
Task records: the status and parameters of your generation tasks

1.5 Purchase Information

If you purchase credits via Apple In-App Purchase, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple. We receive only a purchase receipt for verification and your credit balance changes. We never see your payment card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

To operate the core service: generating videos from your prompts and reference materials
To authenticate you and keep your account secure
To store your generated videos so they remain available to you (provider links expire within ~24 hours, so we archive results to our own storage)
To maintain credit balances and process purchases
To monitor service health, prevent abuse, and investigate security incidents
To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your content for advertising.

3. AI Processing Disclosure

When you request a video generation, your prompt and the reference materials you attached are transmitted to our AI model provider, Volcengine Ark (ByteDance), which performs the video generation. Submitted content is subject to the provider's automated content-safety review; requests that violate content policies will be rejected. Please do not upload materials containing other people's personal information unless you have their permission.

4. How We Share Information

We share data only with the service providers required to run Seedance:

5. Data Retention

Account data — retained while your account is active; deleted upon account deletion
Uploaded materials and generated videos — retained until you delete them or your account
Request logs — retained for a limited period for security purposes, then purged
Transaction records — retained as required by financial and tax regulations

6. Your Rights

Access & correction — view and update your profile in the App
Deletion — delete your account from within the App (Settings → Account). Deletion removes your account data, uploaded materials, and generated videos from active systems
Withdrawal of consent — you may stop using the service and delete your account at any time

Depending on your region (e.g., GDPR in the EEA/UK, CCPA in California), you may have additional rights such as data portability and the right to object to processing. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.

7. Children's Privacy

Seedance is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We protect your data with industry-standard measures: TLS encryption in transit, token-based authentication with revocation, server-side verification of all third-party credentials, redaction of sensitive fields in logs, and role-based access control for administrative systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information.

9. International Data Transfers

Our servers and service providers may be located in different countries. Where data crosses borders, we rely on the safeguards offered by our providers and applicable legal mechanisms.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision; continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
